The Key to Unlocking Sustenance
We are encouraged to give charity at any time, but the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) specifically mentioned the virtue of giving charity at dawn (Subuh).
The time of Subuh holds many secrets and blessings, making acts of worship during this period especially meaningful. In fact, many verses in the Qur’an highlight its significance. One of them is Surah At-Takwir, verse 18, where Allah swears by the time of Subuh:
“And by dawn when it breathes.” (Surah At-Takwir: 18)
At this blessed time, we are encouraged to engage in acts of worship that bring barakah, one of which is ‘Sedekah Subuh’.
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that those who give charity at dawn will receive direct prayers from the malaikat:
"Every morning when the sun rises, Allah sends down two angels to the earth. One of them says: 'O Allah, grant abundance to those who spend their wealth (in charity).' The other says: 'O Allah, destroy those who withhold their wealth (out of miserliness).’" (Muttafaq ‘Alaih)
